Director's Note
Diaphony is an experimental short film that explores social communication and language. Three multi-lingual friends find themselves lost while on a road trip. When they encounter a stranger and all speak the same language, they struggle to understand one another and communicate.
Diaphony was filmed in Oxford Country, Ontario. The location provided a beautiful scenic landscape which provided the isolation the story required while also remaining nonspecific. In the world of the film, this location could be anywhere on the planet because the combinaton of languages could intersect anywhere in the world.
